What Christmas means to me

 last week my class got chosen to write a little letter about what Christmas means to me.

                                                What Christmas means to me 

Christmas means that I get to spend time with my friends and family that I haven't seen for a long time.

It means that I get to give presents to my family and friends to remember the birth of are Lord Jesus when the three kings came and gave him the gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Goal Setting Update

Yesterday we were seeing if we achieved our term 1 goal setting which went through out the year. I did well on my social goal because I have been a very good friend to everyone and because I help people with their work and blog posts.
I enjoyed looking through what I have achieved.

The Apple Tree Dilemma

 this week for my groups reading we had to the apple tree dilemma then get the character Dad and compare him against another count to that we know. the apple tree delimit Isabel a boy and a girl who have an apple tree next to their house playing in it for years and then some kids bought the house next door and they started playing in the apple tree.

I found it easy to make my background and outlines.

Pop Art

Today I was making a photo collage on lunapic it is a really awesome app where you can just change any Photo and make it's amazing.

We had to use one photo and make it into a photo collage.

There are so many different features and  filter that you can use. 

The artist that inspired me was Andy Warhol.

I found it tricky to find the right filters that I wanted.

I found it easy to take my photo.

Next time I would change my filters.

Border Patrol Ads

This week we were reading a book on unwanted visitors it is about where you can find little bugs and viruses that we do not want here in New Zealand. so we made a poster on how we can keep those bugs and viruses away from New Zealand.

I found it tricky to think of what I was going to say.

Maori language week

this week we where making a book on book,

because it is Maori language week we made a book from English to maori.

I found it tricky to find the animals.

Ruru art

last week and this week we were learning about the Ruru so we did some art on it.

1. we through the outline of the owl.

2. we did patterns on it.

3. we died it.

4. then we sharpie'd the outline.

5. then we stuck it on the back of white and black paper.

6. then we stuck are named at the bottom.

then we were finished.

I found it easy to do the sharpie.

I found it hard to think of the colours I was going to use.

Last week we were learning about faith. 

So we maid faith poster. 

We did some sayings and stuff about faith and also what faith means to you. 

I found it easy to make the backgrounds and find what I was going to say for it.

Maths quiz

On Monday we were doing a times tables game.

We had to write down the times tables we will learning and we also got to choose how much time we had to answer the question. We got given 25 questions and we had to try and get a mini right as possible. I really liked it because he was a little robot that was telling us what to do.

I found it easy to set it to the right things so I could play my level of learning.

I found it tricky get the right answers.

Next turn I would change the time I had.

if it is green I got it right.

if it is red I got it wrong.

if it is blank I didn't get to answer it.

and if it was Orange I would have been close to the answer.

Sacraments

This week we were learning about the Sacraments we learnt all the things that were sacraments and what was not a Sacrament.

yesterday we made some posters about the Sacraments. 

I found it easy to design my poster. 

I found it tricky to work out the symbol and ritual.

laughing owl

this week and last week we where learning about an extinct animal native to New Zealand I chose the laughing owl. I chose the laughing now because there were lots of facts about it but some of them just didn't feel right so I only have a couple.

I found it easy to write my report on the laughing owl.

i found it tricky to find the facts.

Next time i would put some more facts.

They are mainly found in New Zealand in forest and sleep in Caves or big holes in trees, rooke lands or open country.

Diet

They eat frogs, bats, lizards,tuatara, large insects and big, medium and small birds.

Threats

Things the eat this owl are stoats, ferrets,weasels, Rabbits and Māori people.

Description

adults were dark brown with yellow stripes on their feathers.

some had brown with yellow tips. The Laughing owl is about 29 centimetres tall so about the same size as a morepork.

the female laughing owl is actually bigger than the male laughing owl.

july reflection

today I was doing my july reflection.

This afternoon we where learning how to make a photo collage. earlier this morning we went to a Enviro Centre. we had to  rethink reuse and recycle plastic things. my teacher took some photos while we're at the Enviro centre and that's what we had to make into a photo collage.

this week we where learning how to put a report that together because we had a report about lions and we cut it up and put it back together in paragraphs we use classification,  description,  habitat and a dynamic fact.

I enjoyed growing them on and highlighting them.

I found it tricky to put them in the right place.

Matariki stars

we are learning about matariki because there is matariki is coming up very soon in the school holidays

I found it easy to think of the facts I was going to do on it.

I found it tricky to take the photo because I have already hung it up on the wire.

this morning we had a share breakfast to celebrate matariki

it was really cool to have a breakfast at school and sit at home.

I enjoyed eating all the different foods bit different to my normal breakfast.

We are learning how to read decimals.

Pattern ball

we are learning to communicate and work as a team.

me and my team  took not sa long as i thought it was going to take.

we had 3 balls to play with.

ball 1 was a chest pass.

ball 2 was a bounce pass.

ball 3 was a rugby pass.

To communicate we had to make a pattern we also we had to call out peoples name out so we know where the ball is going next so the patten can just keep on going.

I found it easy to know how i was passing to.

I was learning how to use sub headings.

What is Matariki?

Matariki is a group of 9 stars in the night sky that is only visible at a certain time of year which is in June and July. Matariki is a Māori name for a group of stars also representing the Māori New Year.

How many stars are there in the Matariki group?

A Māori astronomer named Dr Rangi Matamua who’s been researching Matariki For 30 years discovered nine matariki stars in the sky instead of 7 which lights saw.

This is the star that signifies reflection and hope.

Pōhutukawa is the star that looks after the people who have passed on and keeps them                        safe.

Torch Challenge

found it easy to make the light bulb glow because I do stuff like that with my dad.
My group found it tricky to use or 6 wires and the cardboard.

Pentecost

Pentecost

The day of Pentecost the disciples were in a house.

The suddenly the house began to shake.

Then a strong wind came through the house.

Then flames were on their heads but did not burn them.

They started to speak different languages then went and told everyone about how Jesus and how he gave us the Holy Spirit. They were talking in different languages with you but if you did not speak their language they could still understand them.

That day everyone started believing in Jesus.

It is a flame.

Do you know what would happen if I turn it the other way?

Hail Mary

May is the month of Mary.
in my class we were earning the Hail Mary in sign language.
I found it tricky to learn it because I only got 2 days to learn

Moving house

I Was learning how to use a hook in my writing.
Next time I would change what I was writing about.

Moving house

heavy thumping bumping everywhere.
Putting all the boxes in room’s one by one.
There were mountains of boxes in every room.
We were moving from out far in the country to the middle of town but we did use a lot of petrol.
Most of my family was helping me and my mum all day long.
 We were all moving boxes all day long. After about a couple of days the moving truck came and delivered the
Rets of the boxes and furnisher.
We got most of it set up that day the moving truck came.
Me and my mum got all the bed’s setup then we asked my sister to come over to our new house and set up the tv’s in my room and the sitting room. Over the last few days we cleaned out the shed and the house. So after about 2 weeks we got the  furnisher and food in the house. The moving people were really nice because they hooked the fridge and washing machine up to the electricity for us.
They also put all the furnishings in the right room’s and helped us put all the furnishings together. So after about 1 month we got the whole house set up.

Henri Matisse

we were learning about Henri Matisse .
He was a painter that only panted dead things
well not really dead things just stuff like a guitar
because it was would from a tree  and it has died now.

I enjoyed painting it and sketching it.
I did not like what some of the colors i did, like my guitar.

Jesus Ascended

today we were learning about the Ascended of jesus which is when he is risen to go to heaven.
I enjoyed making everything.
i did not like how much time it took I want to do.
